About me

Dani McCarthy, MSc, PGCert (Mental Health), PGCert (Low Intensity CBT), GMBPsS

Hi, I’m Dani, a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) and Mental Health and Wellbeing Coach with a background in academic psychology and practical, front-line mental health support.

I hold a Distinction MSc in Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol, a Postgraduate Certificate in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions from UCL, where I’m currently completing my PWP training. I’ve also applied for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society to support my professional development and access to evidence-based resources.

Since 2023, I’ve worked within the NHS supporting individuals with common mental health challenges such as anxiety, low mood, and stress. Prior to this, I worked in Australia delivering recovery-focused groups for individuals living with severe mental illness.

"Dani was really calm and helpful. She helped me to discover my values and take practical steps towards my goals.”

“I had a great experience with Dani. She understood my issues and gave me some great tools to calm my anxieties and fear. I am hoping to reset my life.”

My approach

My coaching approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, drawing primarily on CBT techniques and guided by a strong belief that each person has their own unique path to wellbeing. I mainly draw upon:

  • Practical strategies for managing stress and burnout

  • Creating sustainable routines and habits

  • Building a healthier work-life balance

  • Techniques for managing anxiety and overthinking

  • Using a strengths-based approach to build confidence

  • Discovering your values to create meaningful goals

At the heart of my practice is the belief in shifting the behaviours that no longer serve you and reconnecting with the strengths and values that do.

That’s what One Mind is all about: finding your path to wellbeing.
